RWE Innogy and ABB have signed a delivery contract for 63 km underwater cable for OWF "North Sea East". Planned start of construction work at sea is autumn 2011. By mid-2012, first of a total of 48 wind turbines of REpower Systems 6 MW class are expected to produce electricity. The full development of the OWF is planned for 2013.

The turbines of the offshore wind farm Nordsee Ost will be build on Jacket foundations by the company Aker Verdal. The companies RWE Innogy and Aker Verdal signed a contract for the supply of the foundations starting in 2011.  The contract volume is approximately 115 million Euros.

The joint venture of RWE Innogy, Stadtwerke München and Siemens plan to build one of the biggest offshore wind farms located off the North Wales coast. The wind farm “Gwynt y Môr” will have an installed capacity of 576 MW and will supply 400.000 households with electricity. The construction will start in 2011.

The first pile-drive for the expansion of the offshore harbor Cuxhaven has been actuated by the environment minister of Lower Saxony Hans-Heinrich Sander the. The new construction of the port will be 610 meters long and will be divided in three new deep-water berths, which will be able to carry a fully assembled offshore wind turbine.

Siemens Energy and the EnBW Energie Baden-Würtemberg AG have signed a delivery contract of 21 wind turbines of the typ SWT 2.3-93 for the first german commercial offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea: Baltic 1. The wind farm is located 16 kilometers in the north of the peninsula Darß/Zingst and is planned to have a total power of 48.3 MW. The construction will start in spring 2010, the commission date is planned to be during the fourth quarter of 2010.

RWE has submitted a permit application and environmental impact assessment for its “Tromp Binnen” offshore wind farm to the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management. “Tromp Binnen” is initially composed of 59 wind turbines with a total capacity of approximately 300 MW and situated 75 kilometers off the shore.

The state of Rhode Island has completed and signed a joint development agreement with Deepwater Wind to build an offshore wind farm in Rhode Island’s coastal waters. The agreement states  that Deepwater is responsible for the construction of  a 100-turbine wind farm capable of generating 1.3 million megawatt-hours of electricity per year. The installation of the wind farm is planned to begin in late 2010.

RWE Innogy is taking over ENOVA Energieanlagen GmbH, thus acquiring the rights to the offshore wind project North Sea Windpower 3 (prospectivly Innogy Nordsee 1). The wind farm is to be located approximately 40 km northern of the Island Juist, in a water depth ranging from 26 to 34 meters. The completed wind farm should provide 960 MW of power generation capacity.

According to RWE Innogy nagotiations about a basic contract with REpower for 2505 and 6 MW wind turbines have progressed considerably. The signing of the contract is anticipated to take place  at the beginning of next year.

The British government granted approval to RWE Innogy for the construction of the offshore wind farm, Gwynt y Môr. The wind farm is located 13 kilometers to the North of Wales. Vestas has received an order for wind turbines for the Thanet Offshore Wind Farm (UK) with a total capacity of 300 MW by Vattenfall Wind Power. The wind farm will consist of 100 V90-3.0 MW wind turbines.
