Project description:

The QuantAS-Off project addresses the following issues:

• To what extent are dense, oxygen-rich bottom currents from the Arkona Sea into the Baltic Sea obstructed and diluted as a result of the construction of offshore foundations?
• What influence does this water mass transformation have on the amount of oxygen-rich water flowing from the North Sea into the Baltic Sea and on its distribution?
• What recommendations as to location, layout and the size of offshore wind farms can be made to the parties responsible for offshore wind planning?
